After School Programs

In partnership with over 15 different service providers, the RAFT operates six After School Programs for youth from ages 10-16. The program provides fun recreation and social activities during their most vulnerable time of day- after school. After school programs run Monday to Friday from 3:00p.m. to 9:00p.m. These programs are part of a United Way and Prosperity Initiative to revitalize and support stressed neighbourhoods in Niagara. After School Programs offer free and accessible recreation, leisure and educational opportunities that foster independence and positive community relationships amongst the youth.
Programs take place in local schools or community centres making it easy for youth to access these programs and making it easy for parents to pick up their kids after work.
Along with a nutritious snack, each After School Program offers a selection of different free activities for kids to choose from. All activities are handpicked by the kids that attend - no two sites are the same. Some activities include: gym games, drama activities, dance classes, cooking lessons, scrap booking sessions and special outings, homework help, self esteem and empowerment workshops and leadership groups.
The After School Programs are sponsored by:
